The college works with young people and adults with a diverse range of special educational needs and disabilities, helping them develop their skills, achieve their goals and build greater independence.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join a committed, multidisciplinary team in the Kingston area.

About the Role

You will provide essential support to students with a variety of communication and swallowing needs, including individuals with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. Working closely with teaching teams and other healthcare professionals, you will deliver tailored, person-centred interventions at both universal and specialist levels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing students' speech, language, communication and swallowing needs.

  • Planning and delivering individual and group therapy sessions.

  • Promoting a total communication approach throughout the college.

  • Providing staff with training, advice and practical strategies to support students' communication.

  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues within Integrated Services.

  • Supporting students to develop functional communication skills and greater independence.

About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking therapist who:

  • Holds a recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification.

  • Is registered with the HCPC.

  • Has experience, or a keen interest, in supporting individuals with autism and/or learning disabilities.

  • Takes a person-centred approach and is passionate about practical, innovative interventions.

  • Communicates effectively and enjoys working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Why Join?

  • Generous annual leave entitlement, including a Christmas closure.

  • Flexible working arrangements, with term-time and part-time options available.

  • Excellent continuing professional development and opportunities for career progression.

  • Opportunities to work alongside a range of specialist professionals and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Access to a comprehensive range of employee benefits and wellbeing support.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
