Are you a recent graduate looking to kick-start a rewarding career in education, psychology, SEN support, or mental health? Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and compassionate Graduate SEN Learning Mentor to join a specialist secondary SEN school in the Salford area.

This exciting role involves supporting students aged 11-16 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, speech and language difficulties, moderate learning difficulties (MLD), sensory processing needs, and communication challenges. You'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people, helping them to overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEND.
• Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the school day.
• Build positive relationships and act as a trusted mentor and role model.
• Encourage engagement, participation, and independence in learning.
• Support the implementation of EHCP targets and behaviour support plans.
• Assist students in managing emotions and developing self-regulation strategies.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Support students during lessons, breaktimes, enrichment activities, and educational visits.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
• The ability to build strong professional relationships.
• Confidence working with students who may display challenging behaviours.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Previous experience working with young people through volunteering, sports coaching, tutoring, youth work, care, or mentoring is desirable.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
