Role Overview:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students across various subjects and year groups. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Classroom Support: Assisting teachers with the delivery of lessons, providing one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional help with their studies.

  2. Resource Preparation: Helping to prepare teaching materials, resources, and equipment for lessons, ensuring that classrooms are set up and organised to facilitate effective teaching and learning activities.

  3. Student Engagement: Engaging students in their learning by providing encouragement, motivation, and assistance as they work through tasks and activities set by teachers.

  4. Behaviour Management: Assisting teachers in managing classroom behaviour, implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and ensure a conducive learning environment for all students.

  5. Individualised Support: Providing targeted intervention and support to students with special educational needs or those facing academic challenges, helping them to achieve their full potential.

  6. Extracurricular Activities: Getting involved in extracurricular activities and enrichment programmes, such as clubs or workshops, to enhance the educational experience and personal development of students.

Requirements:

  • A degree in any subject area, with a strong academic background and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Enthusiasm, patience, and a proactive approach to supporting students' learning and development.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different subjects, year groups, and classroom settings.
