Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our team at a thriving SEN school in Bridgend. The role will be supporting pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4 with a wide range of abilities and needs, and we are looking for individuals who are committed to helping each child reach their full potential.

 

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support KS3 and KS4 pupils with a diverse range of needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Work alongside teachers to deliver tailored educational support in line with individual education plans.
  • Engage in 1:1 and small-group support, adapting to each student’s unique learning style.
  • Assist with classroom management, social development, and life skills.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing school environment where every child can thrive.

 

About You

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEN (experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential).
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
  • Are proactive, flexible, and adaptable to the varying needs of students.
  • Hold a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or are willing to work toward one).
  • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
