Job Title: Learning Mentor (Maternity Cover)

Location: WF5 Area

Duration: May to December (Maternity Cover)

Contract: Full-time

Salary: £90-£100 per day

About Us: An esteemed school in the WF5 area is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to provide maternity cover from May to December. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team and make a real difference in the lives of students.

Role Overview: As a Learning Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students. Working closely with teachers and other staff members, you will provide targeted support to students facing various challenges, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, focusing on their individual needs and goals.
  • Implement strategies to support students' social and emotional well-being, including behavior management techniques and emotional regulation exercises.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to identify students in need of support and develop personalized intervention plans.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, regularly evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Act as a positive role model for students, promoting positive behavior and attitudes both inside and outside the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Learning Mentor or in a similar role, preferably within a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the social, emotional, and academic needs of students, particularly those facing challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and establish trusting relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with colleagues to support student success.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in mentoring, counseling, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
