An Ofsted graded “outstanding” Secondary School in Clitheroe, Lancashire have an unique opportunity for a reliable, hardworking and friendly individual to join their Learning Support Department as a 1:1 Support Assistant from January 2024.
This is initially a maternity cover, however due to department expansion, this could turn into a temp-to-perm opportunity depending on the successful candidates performance.
Hours: Full time position, 37.5 hours a week during term time (the school have expressed that part-time hours may be accommodated for the right candidate)
The department in school supports pupils with dyslexia and pupils with other learning needs including dyspraxia, ADHD and ASC. We are also keen to hear from candidates who have some experience also in delivering English as an Additional Language.
The successful candidate must have good organisational skills and be able to liaise effectively with parents and colleagues with diplomacy and sensitivity. They should be effective and have experience with SEND pupils, and it is desirable that they have previous experience delivering 1:1 intervention. The overall objective of this role is to inspire the pupils to gain a love of learning, an inquisitive mind, and the confidence to try new things.
