This role involves working in a specialised SEN unit, supporting a mixed-age group of pupils with additional needs. The class consists of 12 students, and you will be part of a team that includes 4 other Learning Support Assistants, providing tailored support to help each child thrive in their learning environment.

Role Highlights:

• SEN Focus: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children with diverse learning needs in a structured setting.
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside 4 other Learning Support Assistants to deliver consistent and comprehensive support to 12 pupils in the SEN unit.
• Diverse Learning Environment: Engage with pupils of varying ages, adapting your support to meet their individual educational and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to pupils with special educational needs.
• Assist the teacher in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs).
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
• Monitor and report on student progress, helping to adjust strategies as necessary.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant in an SEN environment is highly desirable.
• A current DBS check is required, or a willingness to process one through Reeson Education.
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a commitment to supporting children with special educational needs.
