Learning Support Assistant – SEMH & Trauma-Informed School

We are seeking caring, resilient and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist educational setting supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, trauma backgrounds and associated challenges.

This is a rewarding opportunity to build positive relationships, help pupils overcome barriers to learning, and support them both academically and emotionally throughout the school day.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Helping students regulate emotions and engage in learning
• Encouraging positive behaviour and social development
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff
• Creating a safe, consistent and nurturing learning environment
• Supporting students both inside and outside the classroom

We're Looking For:

• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults with similar needs
• Backgrounds in education, support work, youth work, care, coaching, psychology or similar fields are welcomed
• A genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
