Learning Support Mentor

Teaching Personnel

£70 - 80 per day

Teaching Personnel are working alongside specialist settings in and around Bradford who require Learning Support Mentors for long-term roles. The schools specialise in supporting young people who have not been able to maintain a placement in their local school due to a social, emotional, or behavioural difficulty or medical condition. Within these schools, pupils are taught in small groups with a specific teaching assistant who supports them in all subjects. Your role would be to support teachers in delivering lessons to meet individual learners’ needs. You would also provide targeted small group and 1-1 intervention. As part of the team, you would have support from professionals such as Educational Psychologists, CAMHS, Children's Services, Early Help, etc.

 The successful Learning Support Mentor will have:

- Experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviours as one of the following Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker or Residential Support Worker

- Experience of using behaviour management, Team Teach and de-escalation techniques

- A commitment and dedication to the learning and development of children and young people

- A caring and nurturing character

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
