Are you passionate about supporting the new generation?

Teaching personnel is seeking for a number of Learning Support Mentors to support a College in the Cambridgeshire area.

You will be providing high level support to students with a range of learning difficulties/disabilities, and create an inclusive environment that accommodates their needs.

About the role:

  • It’s a full-time post,
  • 9am-5pm
  • Supporting a wide range of ages from 16 to adult learners.
  • Looking for someone who can support students with the opportunity to support the wider team.

As part of the role, you will:

  • Support students with a range of learning difficulties and other disabilities.
  • Enable reasonable adjustments to help students to engage.
  • Mentor students and encourage them to remain on task.
  • Model skills so that the student can understand the tasks.
  • Promote our college values.

What we are looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • GCSE English grade C / 4 or equivalent - or willing to work towards gaining this qualification.
  • Happy to undergo relevant training.
  • Enjoy working across college faculties i.e. supporting students on a variety of courses.
  • Have recent and demonstrable experience of working with people with special education needs (desirable, but not essential)
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude, sensitive to others needs, patient and reliable.
  • A team player yet also able to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
