Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Science Teachers to work across secondary schools throughout South Yorkshire. We have a range of opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, short-term cover, long-term positions and permanent roles.

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, practical and challenging lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop their scientific knowledge, understanding and practical skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Science lessons.
  • Teaching across KS3 and KS4.
  • Teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics, depending on your specialism and experience.
  • Preparing students for GCSE examinations where required.
  • Delivering engaging practical and investigative activities.
  • Differentiating lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs.
  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
  • Assessing, monitoring and tracking student progress.
  • Providing constructive feedback to support student development.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and the wider science department.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Science Teacher with a genuine passion for inspiring students through Science.

You will ideally have:

  • QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics.
  • Experience teaching GCSE Science is desirable.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to engage, motivate and inspire students.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A flexible and professional approach to teaching.
  • A commitment to raising student attainment and achievement.
