Different secondary schools have very different personalities.
You might walk into one and immediately know it's your sort of place. Another might not be for you at all.
Supply gives you the chance to experience different schools, year groups and working environments without immediately committing yourself to a permanent role.
I'm currently expanding my network of Supply Teachers and Cover Supervisors across Brighton and the surrounding areas, supporting local secondary schools with both planned and last-minute staff absence.
There's a genuine mixture.
A school might book you in advance to cover a planned absence.
You might pick up several consecutive days at the same school.
Or you might hear from me first thing in the morning because somebody has called in sick overnight.
Schools can start contacting me from around **6:30am-and occasionally before-**so if you're available for same-day work, there will be mornings when I contact you early.
That won't suit everybody, and that's fine.
For people who like flexibility, however, it can be a really useful way of working.
I'm not going to ask you to promise me Monday to Friday if that isn't what you want.

I'm looking for qualified teachers across secondary subjects for general and subject-specific cover.
You'll generally need QTS or an appropriate equivalent.
You could be an experienced teacher wanting a break from permanent responsibilities, an ECT looking to experience different schools or somebody returning to teaching after time away.
You do not need QTS to work as a Cover Supervisor.
Rather than planning and delivering your own lessons, you'll supervise work set by the absent teacher, manage the classroom and help pupils remain focused.
