Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in the London Borough of Bexley is recruiting KS3 – KS5 Teacher of English / SEMH Teacher Bexley . Ongoing long term post to start April 2024!

Position: MPS or UPS Teacher of English Teacher (QTS)

Daily Rate: £150 - £200 a day

Duration: Temp to Perm

Days: Monday to Friday

Reputable Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)located in Bexley is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teacher of English / SEMH Teacher and who is able to teach a minimum of KS3 up to GCSE. The successful English Teacher will have experience working with students who have been diagnosed with varied behavioural SEN (ie SEMH, Complex Needs, Behaviour, ODD and/or ADD).

Your class sizes are small, up to 6 students per class so will give you the opportunity to build a strong rapport with them and so you can teach fun & engaging English lesson. Additionally you will be supported by your Behaviour TAs

  • You have a teaching qualification, ie PGCE/ Teach First / Cert Ed / GTP/ ITT/ QTS / QTLS
  • Experience working with students with either: ASD / SEMH/ Complex Needs/ Behaviour Complexities ODD, ADD
  • Expertise in SEMH English teaching at KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • Ability to create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to the needs of individual students
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
  • Commitment to promoting a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement
  • Delivering outstanding SEMH English lessons to students at KS3, KS4 and KS5 level
  • Creating engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to the needs of individual students
  • Providing support and guidance to students with ASD and SEMH, Complex Needs, Behaviour, ODD, ADD
  • Developing positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
  • Tracking and monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback to students and parents
  • Collaborating with other teachers and support staff to provide a holistic approach to education
  • Promoting a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement
  • You have an in date Enhanced DBS or able to pay for a new one immediately
