Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are currently recruiting SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Learning Support Assistants to work in a range of supportive schools across Bristol and South Gloucestershire, starting this September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are patient, resilient, and committed to supporting students who may face barriers to learning due to social, emotional, or behavioural needs.

As an SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Help manage behaviour and support students in regulating emotions
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support pupils both in and outside of the classroom
  • Work closely with teachers and school staff to create a safe and engaging learning environment
  • Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Resilience and the ability to remain positive in challenging situations
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Availability from September
  • Flexible roles across a variety of schools
  • Competitive daily pay
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated team
  • Opportunities for professional development

Working within SEMH settings can be challenging, as you’ll be supporting pupils who may struggle with behaviour, emotions, or engagement.
