Are you a passionate SEN Teacher, Tutor, or Further Education professional looking to make a genuine difference to young adults preparing for adulthood and employment?

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded specialist post-16 provision based at a dedicated learning site in Blackpool. The college supports learners aged 18 to 25 with a range of additional learning needs, including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Down Syndrome, Global Developmental Delay and other SEND requirements, helping them develop the skills needed for independent living, employment, and active participation within their communities.

This is a full-time position to start ASAP and can be offered as either a long-term agency contract or a temp-to-perm opportunity, depending on the successful candidate's preference.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging, learner-centred sessions that prepare young adults for their next stage in life. The curriculum is built around Preparation for Adulthood, Citizenship and Employment and includes pathways focusing on Independence, Employability and Employment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
  • Supporting learners to develop independence, social, communication and life skills.
  • Delivering Functional Skills and vocational learning opportunities.
  • Preparing learners for employment, volunteering, further study, and community participation.
  • Working closely with support staff, families and external professionals.
  • Monitoring progress against EHCP outcomes and individual targets.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and aspirational learning environment.

We welcome applications from:

  • Qualified Teachers (QTS, PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
  • SEN Teachers looking to move into post-16 specialist education.
  • FE Tutors and Lecturers with experience supporting learners with SEND.
  • Professionals with experience teaching Functional Skills, Employability, Life Skills or Vocational subjects.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working with learners with SEND.
  • A strong understanding of Preparation for Adulthood outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A flexible and nurturing approach.
  • A genuine commitment to helping learners achieve their full potential.

If you are an enthusiastic SEN Teacher, College Tutor or FE professional who is passionate about empowering young adults with additional needs to succeed, we would love to hear from you.
