Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a committed and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school in the Salford area.

This exciting opportunity involves supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, communication and interaction difficulties, learning disabilities, speech and language needs, and sensory processing difficulties. You will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop independence, and reach their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Assist with the delivery of EHCP targets and individual learning plans.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote confidence and independence.
• Adapt learning activities to suit varying needs and abilities.
• Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes, educational visits, and enrichment activities.
• Build strong, professional relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Assist with personal care and mobility needs where required.
• Monitor progress and communicate observations with teaching staff.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

What We're Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals with experience in education, care, youth work, sports coaching, residential care, or other support-based roles.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
• The ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.
• Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or complex learning needs is desirable.
• A willingness to undertake training and professional development.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
