Are you an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity in Farnham?

We are working with supportive schools in Farnham who are looking for passionate, patient and dedicated SEN LSAs to join their teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with children and young people and is passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them to access learning and develop their confidence and independence.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN

  • Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and engage with learning

  • Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills

  • Supporting pupils with communication and emotional regulation

  • Implementing individual learning and support strategies

  • Supporting positive behaviour and creating a calm learning environment

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils

  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

  • Helping create an inclusive, safe and supportive classroom environment

We are looking for candidates who are genuinely passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN

  • Experience as an LSA, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker or similar

  • A patient, calm and nurturing approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to manage challenging situations with confidence and compassion

  • A flexible and resilient approach to your work

  • A genuine desire to help every pupil reach their potential

Experience supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, sensory needs or complex learning needs would be highly desirable.

Relevant qualifications in SEN, Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care or Teaching Assistance are welcomed, although relevant practical experience is equally valued.
