An inclusive and forward-thinking secondary academy in Blackley (M9) is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team immediately. 🌟 Your Role – Making Every Day Count
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally. You’ll work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and pastoral teams to ensure every student feels valued, understood, and motivated to succeed.
Your day-to-day may include:
- Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs
- Assisting with behaviour management and promoting positive choices and resilience
- Supporting students’ social, emotional, and communication skills
- Delivering or reinforcing targeted interventions under the direction of teachers and the SENCO
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
- Working collaboratively with staff and families to ensure consistent support
- Providing care or mobility support when required
Who We’re Looking For:- Graduates in Psychology, Health & Social Care, or Childhood Studies looking for hands-on SEN experience
- Experienced Teaching Assistants with a passion for inclusion and behaviour support
- Individuals from care, youth work, or mentoring backgrounds who can inspire and guide young people
- Those aspiring to progress into teaching, SEN specialism, or educational psychology
You’ll need
patience, empathy, and resilience—plus a genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
