Role: Teaching Assistant x 2 

Location: Darlington

Start: ASAP

Teaching Personnel are working with a Secondary School situated in the Darlington area. The School are seeking a 2 new members of their support staff team.

The successful candidate will be working predominantly in Key Stage 3, supporting a 2 pupils with SEND (ASD) on a 1:1 basis. These are a full time roles to start as soon as possible, initially for 1 term but has the potential to be extended once funding is confirmed. 

This role is to support pupils with ASD (Year 8 & Year 9 pupils), high functioning but requires support in order to access the curriculum and also stay engaged throughout lessons. You will be required to support their emotional health and wellbeing as well as providing a nurturing learning space. Your responsibilities will be:

  • To be compassionate, have a positive attitude and encouraging
  • Good listening ability and to be sensitive to pupils’ individuals needs
  • Promote positive behaviour management skills
  • Supporting with Literacy and Maths
  • Implementing the support plans in place for the pupil
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing guidance where needed

About the role:

  • Full time role, 8.30-3.30pm Monday to Friday to start as soon as possible 
  • Working closely with the Class Teacher in tailoring the lesson plan
  • 1 Term initially, however with the view to a permanent contract 
  • Competitive rates of pay, depending on experience, paid weekly

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
