  • Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) in their learning activities
  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for SEN students
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to SEN students in various subjects
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Monitoring and recording the progress of SEN students and reporting back to the class teacher
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent

Minimum GCSE level education

Prior experience working with children or young people with SEN

  • Understanding of different types of SEN and their impact on learning
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting SEN students
  • First Aid certification
  • Training in safeguarding children

The role involves working in a classroom setting with SEN students, collaborating with teachers and other support staff. The work may be physically demanding at times, requiring the ability to assist students with mobility issues or personal care needs. The position may also involve occasional participation in school events or outings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
