Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work with pupils who may have Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing needs, learning disabilities, or social communication challenges. Every child is unique, and your support could be the key to helping them build confidence, achieve their goals, and thrive in the classroom.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils who require additional assistance accessing education. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Support emotional regulation and communication strategies.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and adaptable in different situations.
  • Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential.
