SEND Teaching Assistant – Wigan (Mainstream Primary)

A Wigan-based primary school is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs within a mainstream classroom.

This is a varied role, supporting both in-class learning and targeted interventions. You will play a key part in helping pupils develop independence and access learning effectively. SEND TAs typically support pupils through adapted learning and individual support plans .

Key responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Assist with interventions focused on literacy, numeracy and social skills
• Support pupils’ emotional and behavioural development
• Track progress and provide feedback to teachers

Ideal candidate:

• Experience in a TA or support role within primary education
• Understanding of SEND strategies and classroom support
• Reliable, adaptable and supportive approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
