Supply Desk is recruiting for an innovative and enthusiastic Teacher of Design Technology to join a supportive secondary school in Southampton.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative teacher who can bring Design Technology to life through engaging, practical and ambitious lessons. You will teach across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to deliver a mixture of 3D Design and Food.

The school is looking for someone who is passionate about high-quality teaching, enjoys working collaboratively and is keen to contribute to the continued development of the Design Technology curriculum.

• Teach practical Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Deliver engaging and ambitious lessons that inspire creativity and problem-solving

• Teach a mixture of 3D Design and Food, where appropriate

• Plan, prepare and assess high-quality learning experiences

• Adapt teaching strategies to engage and motivate students of different abilities

• Develop students' practical skills, creativity and technical knowledge

• Contribute to the development of the KS3 Design Technology curriculum

• Support the development of the KS4 options offer

• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and personal development

• Share ideas and best practice with colleagues

• Contribute to the wider life and development of the school

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent

• Strong subject knowledge in Design Technology

• Experience teaching at secondary level

• Experience of 3D Design and/or Food would be advantageous

• Confident delivering practical and engaging lessons

• Creative, enthusiastic and able to inspire students

• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

• Ability to adapt teaching to meet different learning needs

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Commitment to professional development and sharing best practice
