A secondary school in the south Manchester area is looking for a specialist Autism Teaching Assistant to join their SEN department working with students who require additional support, starting at the beginning on the new academic year in September. The school are looking for a TA who has specific experience in supporting any young people with Autism or additional learning difficulties. This role will involve supporting students with special educational needs within the school’s specialist provision, Hub.

The main focus of this role is to support students who are aged 11 – 14 but there could be opportunity to assist those in year 10 and 11 as well. You would typically support within the Hub but have the possibility to help re-integrating students back into mainstream classes if applicable.

There may also be the opportunity to provide support to smaller groups of students depending upon the Teaching Assistant Assistant’s subject specialism.

The successful candidate should have relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant in the past or in a similar setting. Confidence, adaptability and being motivated are key aspects of this support role.

This school would suit a Teaching Assistant who is located in the Wythenshawe or Altrincham/Sale area given the local transport links in the surrounding areas. If the successful Teaching Assistant drove, then this could also be easily accessed via the M60 ring road with the school having a large on site, secure car park.
